Some risk factors for heart disease you can't change:
- Family medical history
- Age
- Gender
- Diabetes
BUT there are risk factors you can change:
- High blood pressure
- High blood cholesterol
- Being overweight
- Not being physically active
- Smoking
- Stress
Keep A Healthy Heart
- If you smoke, give up the habit
- Eat a diet low in fat
- Eat more fibre
- Eat more fruits and vegetables
- Lose excess body fat
- Be physically active
- Reduce stress
- Keep it under control: high blood pressure, diabetes
